vagrantI came across to a few issues related with mounting shared folders on Vagrant.

Whenever I was trying to load the machine “vagrant up” I was getting the errors below:

[default] -- /vagrant
Failed to mount folders in Linux guest. This is usually because
the "vboxsf" file system is not available. Please verify that
the guest additions are properly installed in the guest and
can work properly. The command attempted was:

mount -t vboxsf -o uid=`id -u vagrant`,gid=`getent group vagrant | cut -d: -f3` /vagrant /vagrant
mount -t vboxsf -o uid=`id -u vagrant`,gid=`id -g vagrant` /vagrant /vagrant

After a good search on the internet  I found the right commands to tackle the issue.

1. Get sure you have the Virtual guest additions in your guest machine:

$ sudo apt-get install make gcc

2. Then, install the dynamic kernel module support extension and run the set up:

$ sudo apt-get install dkms
$ sudo /etc/init.d/vboxadd setup

Restart your vagrant machine “vagrant reload” and now it should load the shared folders correctly this time.
